STAGED BY FABIAN FREYTAG.

In collaboration with Fabian Freytag, the Berlin-based architect and designer, and Unique Factory Berlin, Zimmer + Rohde has developed a unique concept: to showcase the full diversity of the new autumn collection, the Design Suite was created – a walk-in installation curated by Fabian Freytag in his own space.

The Design Suite is not a traditional exhibition concept, but an immersive spatial experience: fabrics, forms, and atmosphere come together in a sensual dialogue. It demonstrates how textile materials can transform spaces – and evoke emotions.

As part of the Design Suite, Fabian Freytag, Mirza Music, co-owner of Unique Factory Berlin, and Stefan Gabel, Creative Director of Zimmer + Rohde, among others, spoke with journalist and presenter Valerie Präkelt about the creation of collections, craftsmanship and quality – and about what textiles can achieve in interior design today.

“A collection never comes about by chance,” says Stefan Gabel. “We observe what is happening around us – socially, culturally, in art and fashion. In the end, it always comes down to one question: What story do we want to tell through material, color, and texture?”

“I’m interested in the emotions that fabrics can evoke,” says Fabian Freytag.
“How they soften, transform, and embrace spaces. Fabrics have their own language – you just have to stage them so you can hear it.”

ABOUT FABIAN FREYTAG
Fabian Freytag is considered one of the most exciting voices in German design. The Berlin-based architect and designer is known for his distinctive design language, which combines architecture, art, and interior design into a cohesive experience. Since 2012, he has been bringing projects to life through his namesake Fabian Freytag Studio, known for bold spatial concepts, craftsmanship, and emotive staging. His style is modern, detail-oriented, and deeply attuned to the dramatic.
