IL CORRIDOIO
Where textiles become space.

For BRERA Design Week 2026, Zimmer + Rohde presented the immersive installation IL CORRIDOIO by Berlin-based designer Fabian Freytag in its showroom. A mysterious, textile corridor invited visitors to experience fabric in a new way – as space, atmosphere, and a sensory experience. This unique highlight could be discovered on site.

Aperitivo Time with Fabian Freytag

On April 21, Zimmer + Rohde opened its showroom from 4 pm for a special event dedicated to design, materiality, and exchange. In a relaxed atmosphere, the installation IL CORRIDOIO could be experienced – a space that reinterpreted fabric as a sensory and atmospheric medium.

The afternoon offered numerous opportunities for personal dialogue with designer Fabian Freytag and was defined by a dynamic exchange on spatial concepts and textile design. A highlight of the evening was the design talk at 5:30 pm with Fabian Freytag and Creative Director Stefan Gabel.

In a poetic interplay, BLISS, MOUNTAIN LINES and RHYTHM DELIGHT were combined with CORDON to create extraordinary light objects that defied expectation. The resulting luminaires appeared unexpected in their formal language and, within the overall installation, almost immaterial in their presence.

Between texture, light and form, an atmosphere emerged that captured the gaze and sparked curiosity – an invitation to see the familiar anew and to be guided by the subtle magic of the unexpected.

The installation led through corridors shaped by sensual materiality, opening moments of discovery. It formed a composed sequence of spatial passages that intensified perception while allowing it to dissolve.
